Pest Management Services

Any pesticides used are done so only after all Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures are followed and only as a last resort to promote good plant health and eliminate infestation as outlined by municipality bylaws. Integrated Pest Management as outlined by the BC Ministry of Environment and the BCLNA is our first line of defense in every pesticide and herbicide application. The use of pheromone traps and biological pesticides help assist in minimizing pest problems and attracting beneficial insects to control pest populations. We use only Organic Soil Booster Plus (Pro CERT) and PRO Peat carbon based fertility for shrubs and turf to limit limit our use of chemicals, opting for biological control methods whenever possible. We currently use an organic pig manure called “UNIQUE” to fertilize all roses and Rhododendrons. This is an odorless manure and has a 90 day residual from application.

All Pruning is done by and supervised by our Arborist. We can facilitate permitting and tailor Arborist reports for larger sites or when trying to receive bond holdbacks.

All projects get annual soil testing to ensure we are controlling the pH levels for turf, trees and shrubs.

We recommend organic foliar lawn treatments on our high profile lawns but, where budgets don’t allow, we use granular to achieve the needed results for a green and weed free healthy lawn all summer long while following local watering restrictions.
